PwnageTool 4.0 for iPhone 3GS OS 4.0 Jailbreak Puts Your Device at Risk. Stay Away
There is a new modified version of PwnageTool floating around in the wild which promises to jailbreak iPhone 3GS on iPhone OS 4 Beta without upgrading the baseband. The creators of the original PwnageTool has confirmed that this version has been modified and redistributed without their permission, and most importantly, it doesn’t patches some important files which are required for the ultrasn0w unlock to work properly.
@iH8sn0w hah the bigger problem is people risking their baseband with this rogue pirated PT from @4n0nym0u5DEV (which doesn’t even work!)There has also been reports of iPhone 3GS’ not getting recognized in iTunes once jailbroken with this version of PwnageTool. Therefore it is highly suggested to stay away from this release and wait for the official version which now shouldn’t be too far away from release.
@danielsowden nope. And it really is broken in some very important (obvious!) ways (and very risky for unlockers to use too
