How to Recover Deleted Photos After Spirit Jailbreak [Windows - Mac]

You need:
- OpenSSH installed on your iDevice ( Cydia )
- iPhone Backup Extractor 32bit or 64bit for Windows
- iPhone Backup Extractor (Download for Mac from here)
- WinSCP for Windows
- For Mac Users, Download software to access your iPhone via SSH. Mac users can use Cyberduck. Enter the following details to login to your iPhone:
- Server: The IP address of your iPad. Settings –> WiFi –>
- Username: root
- Password: alpine
- Protocol: SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol)
For Windows:
- Download and install iPhone Backup Extractor
- Select the last backup ( the one you made before using Spirit ) and click Next
- Now you can choose to restore backup automatically or manually. Choose manually and click Next…
- Expand the “Media” folder, and select the “Media” folder, inside the “Media” folder… makes no sense? Check the screenshot below...
- Select where you want to save your backup ( suggestion: desktop ) and click Next. If you choose to restore multiple files from the backup, iPhone Backup Extractor might freeze. Just wait patiently...
- Now SSH into your iPhone with WinSCP, browse to /User/Media/ and drag-and-drop the DCIM folder from the backup into your iPhone overwriting the existing files.
For Mac:
- Download iPhone Backup. Extract it and run it.
- Click on “Read Backups” and select the most recent backup made before jailbreaking your iPhone with Spirit. Backups are dated, so it’s easy to choose the correct one).
- Once you select the backup file, click “Choose” and select “iPhone OS Files”.
- Click “Extract” and choose the folder to take the backup.
- Once you click on “Choose”, wait for few minutes.
- Once the process is completed, you will see a folder called “iPhone OS Files” in the path you selected in step 4. Open the folder and then navigate to /Media/DCIM/ and you will find all of you deleted pictures taken by the iPhone.
- Enable the SSH on the iPhone and open CyberDuck port within the directory /User/Media/.
- Simply drag the DCIM folder (extracted in Step 6) to the directory / User/ Media/iPhone via CyberDuck and agree to overwrite the same.
- Once CyberDuck has finished copying the content, you will be able to see all the pictures taken by iPhone.
